A US$ 27.09 investment for a priceless idea

Ricardo Bellino is constantly tuned to details of our day-to-day life and that's how he turned a simple coffee break into the seeding of a great project.

While enjoying a well deserved break at the New York Nespresso flagship store with his wife Marina, he noticed the beauty and graphic power of the shiny colorful coffee capsules displayed on the wall. He immediately came up with the concept of transforming those capsules into pixels and consequently into art.

The idea was to use the small coffee containers to produce a series of portraits in honor of some of the most notorious personalities of all times. The plan was to produce 50 panels, each one measuring 6.5 x 6.5 ft, which would require a total of 125 thousand capsules! Getting hold of that many items was the first problem, so even before leaving the Nespresso store, he called his friend Ivan Zurita, CEO of Nestlé, Brazil who in no time managed to put Bellino in touch with U.S Nespresso's Vice-President, Michelle McFault.

Making a long story short, In a few weeks, 130 thousand capsules were being delivered to the Bellino's Key Biscayne home - Because all capsules had their expiration date exceeded , they were meant to be recycled anyway. What a great way to do it!

Realizing the huge undertaking to be faced, Bellino decided to involve his wife Marina and his friend and partner Wellington to help him in making one more of his great ideas come to life.
